A sea of blue

These are growing all over the park and in some lawns...what are they?




Would it be foolish to plant some in my yard?

I have no idea what they are, but they sure are pretty.

These grow in our lawn and we call them violets.Ours range from white to a deeper shade of purple and seem to be short lived.I need a closer look.

Not sure I can get any closer Hobbit...I was on the ground...and trying to get up from the prone position was tough and not very delicate..hehe!

isn't that flower Speedwell ? It's very pretty in the grass.

Hi Fran, you are correct it is a creeping veronica speedwell georgia blue. Thanks for setting me on the right path.
